Vad är ett SSL-Certifikat?
Ett SSL-Certifikat är en extra säkerhetstjänst till din hemsida som ser till att all information som dina besökare fyller i på din hemsida, som användarnamn, lösenord och kredituppgifter skickas vidare till din databas eller faktureringssystem säkert och krypterat.
Det är ett viktigt tillägg att ha på din hemsida så att dina besökare känner sig trygga.
Framförallt om du driver en webbshop där dina besökare i flesta fall alltid måste fylla i person- och bankuppgifter.
Ett SSL-Certifikat etablerar en krypterad länk mellan din webbserver och dina besökares webbläsare. Det säkerställer att all data som skickas mellan parterna förblir privat och skyddad.
Som besökare ser du direkt om en hemsida inte använder SSL-Certifikat, ett varningsmeddelande visas som meddelar att sidan inte är säker och du får frågan “är du säker på att du vill besöka den här sidan?” Då måste du trycka Ja eller Nej. Google markerar alla sidor som använder HTTP som osäkra, oavsett om det är en webbshop eller inte.
SSL-Certifikat har även en betydande rankningsfaktor. Webbplatser som använder SSL-Certifikat ökar i rankingen på sökmotorerna.
